High heels have seen their own transformation of styles over the decades and, while it is true that everything old is new again (loving the 70s styles!), there are some surprises this summer for our favorite footwear!
These surprises come in the way of feminine accents. One would argue that a gorgeous high heel shoe doesn’t need a lot of embellishments to make it more feminine, but all you have to do is look at the high heels in fashion this season to see that, wow, they are beautiful!
With lovely touches such as flowers, crystals and rhinestones, and even a well-placed zipper, these adornments have taken the high heel to new feminine heights. Some ladies are even adding removable brooches to their shoes for an added touch of personality.
Peep toe shoes are back this year and still rank high on the “must haves” for summer shoe fashion. These heels are also getting in on some of the feminine styles with accents such as bows, ruffles and flowers making a most irresistible girlie shoe. With many styles, fabrics and heel types, which include the fun platform, the peep toe high heel is simply hot!
This season feminine colors are also what’s hot! From dazzling pinks and austere purples and reds, to bright florals, these high heels are coming on strong and really turning a plain outfit into a show stopper.
With wooden or cork heels, the wedge shoe or sandal is still in style this year. Woven or braided straps, adorned with fun embellishments add a nice touch to this year’s very trendy shoe.
And, the strappy sandal makes a comeback this year, which makes a lot of us girls really happy! Whether skinny or thick straps really comes down to a woman’s preference. The ankle strap is also gaining in popularity, which we love because the strap adds a beautiful visual interest to the shoe. And the wider the strap the more room for…you guessed it…feminine embellishments!
